Google Research Awards program will support the Oulu University Secure Programming Group (OUSPG) with an award of $51,500 USD.

The group will use the amount to sponsor two Master´s theses: one in software fuzzing, and another in distributed software testing. Applications are invited for these positions.

According to Google, its Faculty Research Award program provides unrestricted gifts to support full-time faculty members at degree granting institutions around the world. The program is focused on funding world-class technical research in Computer Science, Engineering, and related fields.

"Google hands out these awards after a careful review. This is the first time the University of Oulu is among the recipients. We are happy to be acknowledged this way", says Professor Juha Röning.
